Women’s Hoops Gets on the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25

Bison earn a spot for the sixth consecutive week

BOSTON (December 16, 2025) – CollegeInsider.com uncovered its Women's Mid-Major Top 25 where the Howard University women's basketball team earned a spot for the sixth straight week. The announcement came Tuesday evening.
 
This week, HU (8-5) landed 20th in the poll after earning a 1-1 mark. After dropping a tough bout on the road at Virginia (Dec. 10), the Bison rebounded with close victory, 64-60, over long-time rival Hampton Saturday (Dec. 13).
 
Monday (Dec. 15), the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) unveiled its women's basketball weekly awards where senior forward Zennia Thomas (Cleveland) earned the league's Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Princeton (10-1) remains No. 1 for a third straight week, receiving 28 first-place votes, while South Dakota State (9-2) stays at No. 2, receiving three first-place votes.
 
Army (8-2) and Albany (9-2) make their 2025-26 debut in the latest Women's Mid-Major Top 25®.
 
The Women's Mid-Major Top 25® is released every Tuesday throughout the season.
 
The CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top 25 is now in its 16th season of existence.
 
Saturday (Dec. 20), Howard returns home for only its fourth game of the season inside The Burr, taking on St. Bonaventure at 2 p.m.
