NORFOLK, Va. (December 15, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) unveiled its women's basketball weekly awards where Howard University senior forward
Zennia Thomas (Cleveland) earned the league's Defensive Player of the Week. The announcement came Monday morning.
Defensively, Thomas totaled 16 rebounds, five steals and five blocks while leading the Bison a 1-1 mark. After producing nine points, six boards and a pair of steals at Virginia (Dec. 10), the Cleveland native notched a double-double (11 points & 10 rebounds) with four blocks and three steals in the victory over rival Hampton (Dec. 13).
Nationally, Thomas ranks top 10 in free throw attempts (8
th) and free throws made (10
th) while leading the MEAC in scoring (15.5 ppg) and rebounds (7.5 rpg).
Norfolk State guard Da'Brya Clark was named MEAC Player of the Week while North Carolina Central forward Aaliyah Grant took home Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Howard takes on the Bearcats of the Cincinnati Tuesday (Dec. 16) at 6:30 p.m.
