Women’s Hoops Wraps Up Road Trip at Syracuse

Bison face Orange Sunday

WASHINGTON (November 29, 2025) – Howard University women's basketball team wraps up its brief two-game road trip Sunday (Nov. 30) at Syracuse. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m., inside JMA Wireless.

Wednesday (Nov. 26), redshirt junior guard Zoe Stewart (Terre Haute, Ind.) scored a team-high 16 points and senior forwards Zennia Thomas (Cleveland) and Nile Miller (Woodbury, N.J.) each tallied 12 points, but a second quarter explosion proved to be too much as the Bison fell, 92-62, to Purdue at Mackey Arena.
 
SYRACUSE
 
On Nov. 23, the Orange (5-1) had their three-game win streak snapped in an 81-55 loss at No. 5 Michigan, using a 20-6 second quarter run to pull away. The Orange were led Laila Phelia with 13 points and Uche Izaje, who had a double-double (10 points & 10 rebounds) and Dominque Darius, who contributed 10 points in a losing cause.

Howard is coached by Ty Grace (New Haven, '99), who is in her 11th season and is the second winningest coach in school history. Syracuse is coached by Felisha Leggette-Jack (Syracuse, '89) who is her fourth season.
