NORFOLK, Va. (January 23, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) unveiled its men's and women's track & field weekly accolades where Howard University had a pair of Bison recognized for their efforts at the Corky Classic (Jan. 17-18) in Lubbock, Texas, hosted by Texas Tech.
Graduates
Goba Dan-Princewill (Houston) and
Marcia Sey (London, United Kingdom) grabbed MEAC Men's and Women's Track Athletes of the Week, respectively.
Dan-Princewill finished runner-up in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at a MEAC-best 21.18, which ranks 30
th in the country. The Houston native also competed in the 60-meter dash, making the semifinal round with a new school record (6.73).
Sey won the honor for the second straight week after taking home silver in the 60-meter hurdles. She set a new school-benchmark (8.13), holding the sixth-fastest time in the country.
North Carolina Central junior Malcolm Forbes was named MEAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week while fellow Eagle senior Sa'niya Fowler earned Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
Saturday (Jan. 25), HU returns to the City of Brotherly Love (Philadelphia) for the Penn 10 Elite, hosted by the Quakers.
