NORFOLK, Va. (May 6, 2026) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its men's track & field weekly honors where Howard University saw sophomore thrower
Tarike Lavine (Bridgetown, Barbados) take home the league's Field Athlete of the Week. The announcement came Wednesday morning.
At the Aggie Classic (May 1-2), Lavine placed third in the discus after tossing a MEAC-leading 49.67 meters. He also competed in the hammer, earning fourth place with a throw of 45.90 meters.
Freshman
Jabari Dillard (Cross Hill, S.C.) received honorable mention after taking silver in the 110-meter hurdles, posting a 14.09 time that ranks second in the MEAC.
Delaware State senior Alonzo Sims Jr. was named MEAC Track Athlete of the Week.
On May 14-16, HU heads to Norfolk, Va., for the MEAC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Norfolk State.
