NORFOLK, Va. (April 25, 2024) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its men's and women's track & field weekly honors where Howard University had a pair of Bison recognized for their efforts at the annual Morgan Legacy (April 19-20) in Baltimore. The announcement was made Thursday morning.
Junior
Kyle Fisher (Duluth, Ga.) was selected MEAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week while second-year Bison
Aniya Woodruff (Harrisburn, N.C.) claimed Women's Track Athlete of the Week. Fisher finished runner-up in the triple jump, leaping 14.81 meters (48'7.25"), while Woodruff placed second in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking in at a MEAC-best 59.13.
Fisher and Woodruff guided their respective teams to victories at the Morgan Legacy.
Freshman
Otto Laing (Freeport, Bahamas) won the men's110-meter hurdles, running a 13.79 time, which ranks second in the MEAC (42
nd in the nation).
Coppin State junior Solomon Hammond was named MEAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week while North Carolina Central senior Joidon Boddie took home Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
On April 25-27, the Bison will head to Philadelphia for the prestigious Penn Relays.
