BALTIMORE (April 20, 2024) – Howard University men's track & field won the 2024 Morgan Legacy, hosted by Morgan State, outlasting conference rivals Coppin State (CSU) and Delaware State (DSU).
Collectively, the Bison accumulated 100 points while CSU and DSU tallied 95 points and 87 points, respectively.
HU had three first-place finishes on the day, highlighted by the nation's top 110-meter hurdles squad.
Howard dominated the field, scoring points with seven placed runners. Rookie
Otto Laing (Freeport, Bahamas) and seniors
Noah Langford (Portsmouth, Va.) and
Zachary Hawkins (Lithonia, Ga.) led the charge, finishing first (13.80), second (13.84) and third (13.87), respectively.
Graduate
Ayoade Adebiyi (Virginia Beach, Va.) and redshirt junior
Wendesen King (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) took second (3:58.11) and third (3:58.84), respectively, in the 1500-meter run.
In the field, third-year Bison
Kyle Fisher (Duluth, Ga.) earned gold in the triple jump, leaping nearly 55 feet (16.64 meters).
Graduate
Danree Delancey (Bethel Town, Westmoreland) won the shot put, tossing 17.02 meters (55'10.25").
Next weekend, the Bison will head to Philadelphia for the prestigious Penn Relays (April 25-27).
