WASHINGTON - After aiding the Bison to a 8-3 conference record, redshirt freshman
Tyana Walker (Leawood, Kan.) has been named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season.
Walker totaled 38 points as the Bison swept the Baltimore schools - Morgan State 70-47 and Coppin State 76-73. The Kansas native posted 21 points with four steals and two rebounds in the win over the Bears. She followed with 17 points and two rebounds against the Eagles two days later. Walker shot 41.2 percent (12-of-29) from the field, 46.7 percent from three-point range and was perfect (7-of-7) from the free throw line.
Joining the Bison in weekly honors this week are Norfolk State players Diamond Johnson (POTW) and
Kierra Wheeler (DPOTW).
Fellow Bison
Nile Miller (Haddonfield, NJ.) garnered a Top Performer recognition after averaging 7.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game.
