Track & Field Heads Back to the Northeast for a Pair of Meets

Bison gear up for a weekend in Boston

WASHINGTON (February 1, 2024) – Howard University men's & women's track & field program heads back to the Northeast for a pair of meets in Boston. Friday (Feb. 2), the Bison are set to compete in the Crimson Elite, hosted by Harvard University. The following day (Feb. 3), HU travels to Boston University for the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invite, hosted by the Terriers.

Bison Nation can follow Friday's action on ESPN+. Saturday's meet is scheduled to air on FloSports (PPV). Both events will provide live results.
 
MEET PREVIEW
 
MEN
 
Redshirt junior Wendesen King (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) tops in the league with a 4:15.33 time in the mile run.
 
Rookie Otto Laing (Freeport, Bahamas) has a conference-best 7.89 mark in the 60-meter hurdles.
 
WOMEN
 
In the field, graduate Nyagoa Bayak (Westbrook, Mass.) ranks among the nation's best jumpers. Currently, she sits 26th in the country with a league-best 1.80 meters (5'10.75") in the high jump.
 
On the track, senior Darci Khan (Stockbridge, Ga.) tops the conference with an 8.37 time in the short hurdles (60-meter).
 
Junior Tiffani-Rae Pittman (Bowie, Md.) has a 24.37 mark in the 200-meter dash, sitting first in the league, while fellow classmate Joslyn Crosby (Bossier City, La.) ranks first in the conference with a 10:19.77 time in the 3K run.
 
LAST TIMEOUT
 
On Jan. 26-27, the Bison competed against tough competition at the Bob Pollock Invitational, hosted by Clemson University in Clemson, S.C.
 
Several jumpers highlighted the weekend, led by Bayak. The Massachusetts native finished fourth in the high jump after leaping 1.70 meters (5'7").
 
On the men's side, juniors Kyle Fisher (Duluth, Ga.) and Chase Drewery (Waldorf, Md.) represented Bison Nation in the triple jump, landing seventh (15.02 meters) and eighth (14.69 meters), respectively.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
 
On Feb. 9-10, HU travels to Chicago for the Wisconsin Windy City Invitational, hosted by the Badgers.
