BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (February 14, 2024) – The Northeast Conference (NEC) unveiled its 2023 academic honors for the fall student-athletes where Howard University men's & women's soccer teams saw 19 Bison recognized for their excellence off the field. The announcement came Wednesday (Feb. 7).
The Fall Academic Honor Roll, consisting of 1,239 student-athletes in the NEC with 3.20 grade point average (GPA), was the second-highest total in league history.
Among the Bison honorees included

Nyla Allen (Elmont, N.Y.),
Rachel Asare (Tampa, Fla.),
Bryson Baker (Ellicott City, Md.),
Marli Berry (Orangevale, Calif.),
Kyra Bolden (McLean, Va.),
Jasmine Britford (Gainesville, Va.),
Melea Earley (La Mirada, Calif.),
Rameses Gaines (Oxon Hill, Md.),
Peter Gansallo (Bowie, Md.),
Koa Goodchild (Southampton, Bermuda),
Roy Henderson (Fredericksburg, Md.),
Jaida Hendricks (Waldorf, Md.),
Nathan Leggett (Apex, N.C.),
Zoe Moore (Tampa, Fla.),
Jelani Pierre (St. Augustine, Trinidad),
Ashri Settles (South Orange, N.J.),
Zaria Stevenson (Dallas) and
Alex Taylor (Atlanta, Ga.).
Additionally, 493 NEC student-athletes were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll with a 3.75 GPA or better, just shy of the conference mark (498).
Seven Bison made the cut: Aljirafi; Allen; Berry; Bolden; Gaines; Moore and Stevenson.
Soccer returns to the field in Fall 2024.
