NORFOLK, Va. (December 30, 2024) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its women's basketball weekly accolades where Howard University freshman standout
Saniyah King (Washington) won the league's Rookie of the Week for the sixth time this season. The announcement came Monday.
King filled the stat sheet in Sunday's (Dec. 28) win at American, recording 12 points, three assists, three steals and a pair of boards.
This season, King leads the MEAC with 4.7 assists per game.
Graduate guard
Destiny Howell (Queens, N.Y.) received honorable mention after producing 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals in the road victory at American.
Norfolk State guard Diamond Johnson was named MEAC Player of the Week while Coppin State forward Laila Lawrence earned Defensive Player of the Week.
Howard opens MEAC play Saturday (Jan. 4) when it hosts Delaware State at 5 p.m., inside Burr Gymnasium.
