NORFOLK, Va. (December 16, 2024) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its women's basketball weekly honors where Howard University saw freshman standout
Saniyah King (Washington) win the league's Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season. The announcement came Monday.
King flirted with a double-double in the victory over Army (Dec. 13), racking up 14 points and nine dimes.
Currently, King leads the MEAC in assist per game (5.3), which ranks 36
th in the country.
Junior forward
Zennia Thomas (Cleveland) earned honorable mention after collecting 19 points and eight boards in the win over Army.
Norfolk State guard Diamond Johnson was named MEAC Player of the Week while fellow Spartan forward Kierra Wheeler earned Defensive Player of the Week.
Howard closes out the 2024 home season Tuesday (Dec. 17) when it hosts Old Dominion in a noon tipoff.
