Men’s Hoops Faces Boston in Baltimore

Bison battle Terriers in a neutral site showdown

WASHINGTON (November 23, 2024) – Howard University men's basketball team looks to extend its win streak Sunday (Nov. 24), facing Boston (BU) in a neutral site showdown at UMBC. Tipoff is slated for noon at the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena.

On Nov. 18, graduate forward Cameron Shockley-Okeke (Norwalk, Conn.) scored all of his career-high 21 points in the first half, but it was the clutch scoring of senior guard Marcus Dockery (Washington) with 16 second half points that proved to be the difference as the Bison downed Florida International University, 75-70, on the road.
 
BOSTON
 
Boston (2-4) is coming off a 75-71 win over UMBC Saturday (Nov. 23). In that game, Miles Brewster scored a team-high 18 points and Mata Baptiste and Michael McNair added 13 points and 10 points, respectively.
 
SERIES RECORD
 
This is the third meeting between the two institutions with series tied, 1-1. The Bison prevailed, 64-53, last year inside The Burr. The Terriers won, 71-44 (November 29, 2012).
 
THE COACHES
 
Howard is coached by Kenneth Blakeney (Duke, '95), who is in his sixth season and has led the Bison to two straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) tournament titles and NCAA appearances.
 
BU is coached by Joe Jones (State University at Oswego, '87), who is in his 14th season.
