WASHINGTON (January 7, 2024) – Howard University women's basketball team ends its brief two-game road swing in Orangeburg, S.C., against South Carolina State (SCSU). Monday's tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m., inside the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.

Fifth-year guard
Iyanna Warren (Accokeek, Md.) poured in a season-high 26 points but a 10-7 Eagle run in the overtime period proved to be too much as Howard fell, 79-76, to North Carolina Central in the conference opener at McDougald Gymnasium.
Warren and redshirt freshman guard
Tyana Walker (Leawood, Kan.) combined for 21 of the team's points. The Kansas native ended with 10 points off the bench.
Sophomore forward
Nile Miller (Haddonfield, N.J.) was in foul trouble and played only six minutes. She finished with only two points but recorded four blocks in the loss.

The Bulldogs are led by redshirt sophomore guard Janiah Hinton (7.9 ppg) and graduate guards Morgan Beachman (7.9 ppg, team-leading 39 total assists, 21 total steals & 10 total blocks) and Jordan Releford (7.8 ppg).

HOWARD
The Bison lead the league in field goal percentage defense (35-percent) and second in blocked shots (3.0 bpg) and defensive scoring (60.2 ppg).
Individually, Warren is seventh in scoring and fifth assists.
Miller, who is making a strong bid for league Defensive Player of the Year, is eighth in rebounding, second in steals and third in blocked shots.
SCSU
The Bulldogs rank third in opponents three-point defense and blocked shots (3.0 per game).
Individually, Rakyha Reid is eight in blocked shots, ninth in rebounding (3.0 per game) and 10
th in field goal percentage. Jhaven Meade is sixth in blocks and Beacham is sixth in assists.
