Iyanna Warren (Accokeek, Md.) chipped in 12 points and second-year Bison forward
Nile Miller (Haddonfield, N.J.) added 14 points off the bench to help Howard roll to a 75-57 win over American University in a nonconference game at Burr Gymnasium.
With redshirt freshman guard
Tyana Walker (Leawood, Kan.) getting into the mix, Howard outscored the visitors, 26-13, in the third quarter to break the game open. It was the Bison's most productive third quarter of the season.
For the game, Howard shot a season-best 51-percent (26-of-51), scoring 34 points in the paint and tallying a season-best 34 points from its bench.

NCCU (5-9, 0-0 MEAC) is coming off a 65-59 loss at Chattanooga Wednesday (Jan. 3) for its second straight loss.
The improved Eagles are led by redshirt senior guard Kimeira Burks (14.1 ppg & 3.9 rpg), freshman guard Kayla Bryant (13.6 ppg, 4.7 rpg & 30 total steals), redshirt junior forward Morgan Callahan (11.3 ppg & 8.1 rpg), freshman forward Jada Tippett (8.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg & 19 total blocks) and redshirt senior guard Tippy Robertson (6.5 ppg, 4.6 rpg & team-leading 43 total assists).
MEAC STATS
HOWARD
The Bison lead the MEAC in field goal percentage defense (35-percent) and second in blocked shots (3.0 bpg) and defensive scoring (60.2 ppg).
Individually, Warren is seventh in scoring and fifth assists. Miller, who is making a strong bid for MEAC Defensive Player of the Year, is eighth in rebounding, second in steals and third in blocked shots.
NCCU
The Eagles are first in scoring (65.6 ppg) and blocked shots (3.4 per game) and second in turnover margin, field goal percentage (38-percent) and three-pointers per game (5.1).
Individually, Burks is second in scoring, fifth in three-point shooting percentage and sixth in steals. Bryant is third in three-point shooting and fifth in steals. Tiggett is third in three-point shooting and fifth in blocked shots. Robertson is second in assist and assists/turnover ratio.
