NORFOLK, Va. (May 9, 2023) – Howard University men's track & field team sits in fourth place after Day One of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Championships, scoring 11.5 points.
Sophomore
Cameron Kennedy (Dallas) and newcomer
Robert Golden (Orangeburg, S.C.) capped off the night with the 10K run, combining for seven points with fifth (35:41.32) and sixth (37:28.59) place finishes, respectively.
Second-year Bison
Eric Brown, Jr. (Raleigh, N.C.) represented HU in the high jump, leaping 1.93 meters (6'4") and tying for fourth place (4.5 points). Brown is also competing in the decathlon where he leads with two events remaining.
Senior
Kameron Davis (Miami) and junior
Zachary Hawkins (Lithonia, Ga.) made the 400-meter hurdles final with AQ times of 54.01 and 54.75, respectively.
Senior
Ashton Daniel (Athens, Ga.) reached Championship Thursday in the 200-meter dash, winning his heat with a 21.07 mark.
Reigning MEAC Champions Norfolk State holds the early lead with 34.5 points, followed by North Carolina Central at 29 points.
Wednesday's (May 10) action gets underway at 9 a.m., with the conclusion of the men's decathlon. Further action starts at 11:30 a.m.
