NORFOLK, Va. (February 21, 2023) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its women's basketball weekly honors where Howard University senior forward
Brooklynn Fort-Davis (Chicago) received MEAC Defensive Player of the Week. The announcement came Tuesday morning.
In the two games against Coppin State (Feb. 18) and Morgan State (Feb. 20), Fort-Davis pulled down 15 boards. The Chicago native had eight rebounds and a pair of steals against the Eagles. Two nights later, she recorded seven rebounds and a blocked shot in the road win at Morgan State.
This season, Fort-Davis leads the club with 5.6 rebounds per game, which is 11
th in the league.

Destiny Howell (Queens, N.Y.) received honorable mention after dropping 24 points, including four made long balls, in the road win at Morgan State.
North Carolina Central redshirt junior guard Kimeira Burks was selected MEAC Player of the Week while Delaware State's Savannah Brooks took home the league's Rookie of the Week.
The Bison will travel to North Carolina Central Saturday (Feb. 25) to face off for the second time this season. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m., inside McDougald-McLendon Arena.
