Bowling Looks to Get Back on Track in Greensboro

Bison gear up for the MEAC Round Up No. 2

WASHINGTON (February 17, 2023) – Howard University women's bowling team looks to get back on track this weekend in Greensboro for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Round Up No. 2, hosted by the North Carolina A&T State Aggies.
 
The two-day tourney (Feb. 18-19) will take place at the AMF All Star Lanes (910 S Holden Rd, Greensboro, NC 27407).
 
TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
 
HU enters the tourney tied for eighth in the conference standings. To qualify for the MEAC Tournament, Howard must finish in the top 8.
 
Howard squares off against all eight members, including four nationally ranked squads: Coppin State; No. 16 Delaware State; No. 24 Morgan State; Monmouth; Norfolk State; No. 6 North Carolina A&T State; UAB and No. 10 Maryland Eastern Shore.
 
LAST TIMEOUT
 
On Feb. 10-12, the Bison struggled to find its rhythm at the James Brown Invitational, hosted by Morgan State University, in Towson, Md. Overall, HU went 1-11 during the three-day span while taking on several top 25 teams.
 
Freshman standout Cameren Sullivan (Chicago) continues to shine in her first season, averaging 173.2 in the six matches.
 
BISON TO WATCH
 
Sullivan leads the Bison in traditional play, averaging 174.0 pinfall. This season, she has accumulated 4,523 pinfalls with a career-high 221 game at the CSU Lady Eagles Invite (Nov. 19).
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
 
On Feb. 24-26, HU wraps up the regular season back in Greensboro for the Stallings Invitational.
