GREENSBORO, N.C. (March 1, 2026) – Howard University women's bowling team closed out the regular season at the annual Stallings Invitational. The three-day tourney (Feb. 27-March 1) was hosted by North Carolina A&T State (NCAT).
HU opened the weekend with five Baker matches. Howard dropped four contests, including matchups against No. 6 Nebraska, 870-968, and No. 8 Youngstown State, 884-1,019, but knocked off Belmont Abby College, 843-801.
The next day (Feb. 28), HU went 2-2 in traditional competition with victories over St. Anslem College (SAC), 827-752, and Prairie View A&M (PVAM), 800-729. Senior
Janae Pugh (Chicago) led the charge with a 174.6 average, including a 207 in the win over SAC.
On the final day (March 1), Howard came up short in a pair of Baker best-of-seven matches against PVAM, 2-4, and Coppin State, 3-4. HU finished the tournament on a high note, defeating St. Anslem in five, 4-1.
No. 1 Jacksonville State won the 2026 Stallings Invite, topping Youngstown State in seven, 4-3.
On March 20-22, HU returns to Greensboro, N.C., for the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Tournament.
