BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (February 1, 2023) – The Northeast Conference (NEC) revealed its men's and women's swimming & diving weekly honors where Howard University senior
Miles Simon (Atlanta) won his fourth Swimmer of the Week award this year. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon.
In Saturday's (Jan. 28) Senior Day victory over crosstown rival Catholic, Simon was part of two relay events while picking up wins in the 200 Free Relay and 200 Medley Relay.
Individually, he took home gold in the 50 Free (20.08) and 200 Breast (2:06.13).
This season, Simon leads the NEC in five individual categories: 50 Free (19.85); 100 Free (44.19); 50 Back (22.38); 100 Fly (48.58) and 100 IM (50.76).

Teyana Johnson (San Antonio) and
Arion Solomon (Fairburn, Ga.) and sophomores
Tai Afrik (Holland, Mich.) and
Zaylie-Elizabeth Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas) were named NEC Prime Performers for their efforts against the Cardinals.
St. Francis-Brooklyn newcomer Robin Tatar won NEC Men's Rookie of the Week.
On the women's side, Central Connecticut State swept weekly honors: Katie Czulewicz (Swimmer of the Week); Jewelle Maziarz (Diver of the Week) and Megan Dunnigan (Rookie of the Week).
HU returns to the competition February 21-25 when they travel to Geneva, Ohio to compete in the NEC Championships.
