OCALA, Fla. (March 15, 2025) — The Howard University men's and women's swimming & diving team wrapped up the 2024-25 season at the National Invitational Championships (NIC) in Ocala, Fla.
Both teams put up solid performances, each finishing top 30 in the country. The men and women's teams combined for 243.50 points, good enough for 24
th overall.
WOMEN
The women led the way, scoring 175 points while placing them 18
th overall.
The two-time NEC (Northeast Conference) Most Outstanding Swimmer
Zuilda Nwaeze (Columbia, Md.) finished sixth in the 100 Free.
The 400 Free relay team earned 25
th with a time of 3:26:46.
Akron ended up taking home the win among the women's teams, scoring 650 points throughout the tournament.
MEN
The men placed 29
th, scoring 68.50 points.
Mason Green (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) represented the Bison, tying for 17
th overall in the 200 Fly.
The Bison also participated in the 400 Free relay, placing 21
st while finishing with a 3:02:58 time.
Ohio State won the men's side, scoring 843.50 total points, 191 points ahead of the runner-up Queens-Charlotte.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
As swim season ends, both teams are looking to improve on their successful seasons and seeking to bring home more conference titles.
