MATCHUP PREVIEW
SERIES RECORD
The two last played in 2014 with New Hampshire coming away victorious, 78-68, at The Burr. HU won, 45-40, the year before (2013) in Durham, New Hampshire.
HOWARD
The Bison (1-1) rebounded nicely from its season opening loss at George Washington (Nov. 6), getting its first win of the young season versus Mount St. Mary's Thursday (Nov. 9). 58-39.
Since the beginning of the third period at George Washington, Howard has gotten it done at the defensive end with full court pressing and frantic halfcourt defense. The Bison have established an early identity.
The concern coming in, and understandably so, was where is the scoring going to come from with Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Year
Destiny Howell (Queens, N.Y.) and her 17 points per game out for the season.
Redshirt freshman guard
Tyana Walker (Leawood, Kan.), sophomore forward
Nile Miller (Haddonfield, N.J.), junior forward
Vanessa Blake (Summerville, S.C.), senior guards
Kaniyah Harris (Capital Heights, Md.) and
Iyanna Warren (Accokeek, Md.) could be the solution.
That quintet, along with the play of freshman guard
Janyah Bohanon (Cleveland), could be a portend of things to come.
NEW HAMPSHIRE
The Wildcats (1-1) won their opener, 73-39, over the University of New England at home but fell short at Boston University, 56-47, Friday (Nov. 10).
They were led by senior guard Adara Groman (15 points per game), junior guard Clara Gomez (8 points per game) and sophomore guard Breezie Williams (8 points per game).
