Bison Trio Earn BOXTOROW Postseason Honors

Women’s Basketball receives national recognition

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (March19, 2026) – BOXTOROW disclosed its HBCU Women's Basketball All-America teams and major awards where Howard University saw three Bison acknowledged for their outstanding efforts during the 2025-26 season. The announcement came Thursday.
 
Bison head coach Ty Grace and senior forward Zennia Thomas (Cleveland) headlined the awards, winning BOXTOROW HBCU Division I Women's National Coach of the Year and Player of the Year, respectively.
 
Grace won her second MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Coach of the Year award after leading the league's top scoring attack at 67.2 ppg. During the regular season, the Bison posted a 23-7 mark (13-1 MEAC) with all victories coming against NCAA Division I opponents, including big nonconference wins over Monmouth, William & Mary, St. Bonaventure and tournament-bound Fairfield, who punched its ticket to the Big Dance.
 
Thomas, also selected to the BOXTOROW All-American First Team, became the 10th Bison in program history to win MEAC Player of the Year after topping the league in scoring (15.2 ppg), rebounding (7.9 rpg) and field goal shooting percentage (.451). Nationally, she finished the regular season ranked among the country leaders in free throw attempts (12th) and free throws made (22nd).
 
All-MEAC First Team honoree redshirt junior guard Zoe Stewart (Terre Haute, Ind.) made BOXTOROW All-American Second Team.
 
Jasha Clinton (Norfolk State) earned BOXTOROW HBCU Division I Women's National Impact Player of the Year.
 
Overall, student-athletes from 12 different schools were represented.
 
BOXTOROW has released the Women's Basketball All-America teams since the 2011-12 season.
 
HU takes on Ohio State (OSU) Saturday (March 21) in Columbus, Ohio, live on ESPN2. This will be the first meeting between Howard and OSU.
