REHOBOTH, Del. (September 20, 2022) – Howard University women's golf team set the tone for the new season with a favorable finish at Hornet Classic at the Creek, hosted by Delaware State University, taking second overall.
HU held the lead after two rounds of play, led by grad transfer Kyra Cox and second-year golfer Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas). Both Bison finished in a three-way tie for second place after shooting three over par (+3, 219) in three rounds.
Newcomers Marley Franklin and Morgan Horrell placed top 20 in the event, earning 12th (74-74-76) and 17th (76-71-83), respectively.
Sacred Heart won the event with three Pioneers finishing in the top 10. Delaware State's Anna Ferreyra-Heit took home the individual medal.
