Delaware State COVID-19 Protocol
There will be limited seating for tonight's matchup. Although up to 600 spectators can attend the game, only 150 seats will be offered to the general public on a first-come, first-serve basis. There will be no walk-up sales of general public tickets. All tickets will be sold online at dsuhornetstickets.com.
All spectators will be required to show proof of negative Covid PCR test results. Also, all spectators will be required to wear masks at all times. Failure to comply could result in removal from the facility.
The Game (Howard leads 56-31)
Howard [10-8, 4-2 MEAC] comes into the contest looking to stay in the MEAC Conference hunt after dropping a home contest versus the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, 66-59 Saturday afternoon. On the other hand, Delaware State [0-13, 0-4 MEAC] comes into the contest searching for their first win of the season, falling to conference leader Norfolk State 102-36.
The Bison had a three-game win streak snapped when they fell to UMES, Saturday. Howard's Destiny Howell's 19 points paced the short-handed Bison squad. In addition, Kaniyah Harris recorded a game-high ten rebounds. On the season, Howell [12.1ppg] and Anzhane' Hutton [11.3ppg] paces Howard scoring offense. Iyanna Warren, who missed her first start of the season, is the floor general, leads the league in dimes, recording 4.8 assists per game, 81 assists on the season.
Howard currently have an eight-game win streak over Delaware State and look to make it nine in a row on Monday night.
About the Bison
- Head Coach Ty Grace won her 155th game as a head coach versus Frostburg St. and is six games from reaching the 100 win game mark as a Bison.
- The 2020-21 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division Champions fell in the finals of the 2021 conference tournament. However, the Bison took the league by storm last season. Despite the pandemic, Howard went 10-2 in conference play and 15-4, with non-conference wins versus LaSalle, George Washington, Mount Saint Mary's, and Richmond.
- The Bison were selected No. 1 in the MEAC Preseason Poll by the league's coaches and media relations personnel.
- Three Bison was named the Preseason All-MEAC Team, Anzhane' Hutton, Kaiya Creek, and Iyanna Warren.
- Howard head coach Ty Grace enters her seventh season at the helm, named 2020-21 MEAC Coach of the Year.
- The Bison only lost one starter from last season's team.
- Last season, Howard posted the best regular-season winning percentage (.823) in school history. In addition, the Bison's defense ranked sixth nationally in field-goal percentage defense (33.9) and three-point field goal defense (25.6). Howard's 28.9 defensive rebounds ranked 30th in the NCAA led by 2020-21 Rookie of the Year Anzhane' Hutton. Hutton was also named to the All-MEAC second team, All-Rookie, and All-Defensive team.

The Howard University Bison slow start to begin the third quarter proved to be costly as the Bison fell to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Eagles 66-59, Saturday afternoon in Burr Gymnasium in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference [MEAC] action, snapping the Bison three-game win streak.
Delaware State
The Hornets look to snap their current skid and will look to freshman Unique Miller to get them back into the win column. Miller currently sits fourth in rebounding and second among all MEAC rookies (behind SCSU's Trinity Klock), hauling in 7.2 per game. DSU enters today's contest winless at Memorial Hall in its last nine home games dating back to the 2020-21 season.
