WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 1, 2022) – Five Howard University women's basketball non-conference road games will be streamed live during the 2022-23 season. The Bison will appear on ESPN+ four times and FloSports once.
The first of the ESPN+ contests will be at Memphis on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. The next contest will be the inner-city battle against American at Bender Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. The final two ESPN+ games will against Duquesne on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 11 a.m. and VCU on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 6 p.m.
Howard's game against DePaul on Monday, December 12 at Noon will be streamed by FloSports.
In addition, the entirety of the 2023 MEAC Basketball Tournament, encompassing both men's and women's games, will be live on ESPN networks, with specific channel designations to be determined later in the season. All games on ESPN networks are available to stream on the ESPN App, which is accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.
Howard won 21 games, including the MEAC Championship, last season. The Bison earned its first NCAA Tournament victory in program history with a win over Incarnate Word. The MEAC Championship was Howard's 11th in program history and first since 2001.
The Bison were selected as the MEAC preseason favorites to repeat as champion.
Howard's top players this season include guard Destiny Howell (Queens, N.Y.); guard Iyanna Warren (Accokeek, Md.); forward Brooklynn Fort-Davis (Chicago) and forward Krislyn Marsh (Houston), all of whom earned preseason All-MEAC honors.
Howell was selected to the All-MEAC Preseason First Team after earning MEAC Tournament Outstanding Player honors a year ago. Last season, the New York native played all 31 contests (26 starts) while ranking among the league's top scoring threats (12.5 ppg/fifth). Warren joins Howell on the All-MEAC Preseason First Team. A year ago, the two-time All-MEAC selection competed in 27 games (26 starts) and led the conference in total assists (110) and assists per game (4.1). Fort-Davis, All-MEAC Preseason Third Team selection, played all 31 games a year ago, including 21 starts. Last season, the Chicago product finished with four double doubles while ranking among the conference leaders in rebounds per game (6.5 rpg/seventh) and field-goal percentage (.416/sixth).
Marsh earned a spot on the All-MEAC Preseason Third Team after leading the league in field goal percentage (.520) a year ago. Last season, the Houston native produced three double-doubles, including 16 rebounds and 14 points in the win over Incarnate Word during the NCAA Tournament.
