ANNAPOLIS, Md. (October 3, 2022) – Staying in the middle of the competition throughout the two-day event (Oct. 1-2), the Howard University women's golf team tied sixth overall at the 2022 Navy Fall Invitational, hosted at the par-72, 6084-yard Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis, Maryland.
HU posted its best round of the week to kick off the invite carding, shooting 26-over par (+26, 314) to tie sixth with Fairleigh Dickinson (FDU).
Graduate student
Kyra Cox (South Salem, N.Y.) led the Bison, registering four-over par (+4, 76) in the first round and a top 10 finish at the end of the day. The next round, Cox remained ahead of the herd, hitting 78 (+6) to close out the invite in a four-way tie for 12th place.

Marley Franklin remained consistent, carding eight-over par (+8, 80) both rounds while climbing 14 spots up the leaderboard to tie 25th with teammate
Morgan Horrell (79-81).
Registering a 319 (+32) in the second round, Howard pulled ahead of FDU by five strokes.
Navy won the event, carding 40-over par (+40, 616) and placing two in the top 10. Individually, LIU's Emily Byrne won the event, shooting just two-over par (+2, 146).
The Bison are on the road again Sunday, October 9 as the travel to Juno Beach, Fla., to compete in the Stephens T. Jackson Cup Stroke.
