ANNAPOLIS, Md. (January 22, 2022) – Howard University men's track & field team displayed another strong showing at the Wesley Brown Invitational, hosted by the Navy Midshipmen.
DMV native freshman
Chase Drewery (Waldorf, Md.) led the way by winning the triple jump, leaping nearly 49 feet (14.87 meters).
Fellow classmate
Kyle Fisher competed in the long jump, earning third place overall (6.96 meters; 22'8").
On the track, senior
Jermanie Byrd (Miami) and newcomers
Jamar Bailey,
Kaleb Berry (Duncanville, Texas) and
Khalil McLaughlin took third in the 4x400 relay, clocking in at 3:21.16.
Byrd, alongside fellow classmate
Darian Clyburn (Louisville), reached the 60-meter hurdles final after posting an 8.17 time, respectively. In the final, Clyburn placed sixth (8.28).
Senior
Ashton Daniel (Athens, Ga.) registered a qualifying time of 7.08 in the 60-meter race. In the final round, the Georgia native finished fifth overall with a 7.07 mark.
On Jan. 28-29, the Bison travel to Lexington, Ky., for the Rob McCravy Invitational, hosted by the Kentucky Wildcats.
