33 Bison Selected to the 2019-20 CCSA Academic Honor Roll

Swimming & Diving winning inside the classroom

ATLANTA (August 4, 2020) – The Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) unveiled its 2019-20 Academic Honor Roll where Howard University saw 33 Bison (16 men and 17 women) earn recognition.
 
To be eligible, student-athletes maintained a 3.00 grade point average (GPA) during the 2019-20 academic year.
 
"Our team has continued to make academic success their No. 1 priority," said Howard Director of Swimming & Diving Nicholas Askew. "Their commitment is exemplary, especially during these difficult times. I am extremely proud of them."
 
Among the honorees included recent graduates Kegan Ford (Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago), Leanne McMaster (Kingston, Jamaica), Noah Nicholas (Stone Mountain, Ga.), Maalik Nixon (Peachtree City, Ga.), Skylar Smith (Los Angeles) and Andreas Weech (Nassau, Bahamas), rising seniors Orane Garrick (Kingston, Jamaica), Ameen Muhammad (Philadelphia), Christian Nickolas (Brentwood, Calif.), Abolade Oyetunji (Pembroke Pines, Fla.), Nia-Carole Parker (Wyncote, Pa.), William Speakman Smith II (Jacksonville, Fla.), Jalen Watson (Miami), and Keith-Jordan Wilkinson (Kingston, Jamaica), rising juniors Miguel Davis, Jr. (Washington), Asha Evans (Atlanta), Madison Freeland (Glenside, Pa.), India Jackson (Philadelphia), Simone Outlaw (Burlington, N.J.) and Josiah Scott (Cedar Park, Texas) and rising sophomores Mark-Anthony Beckles (Chaguanas, Trinidad & Tobago), Ileana Bocage (Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago), Kevin Claiborne (Queens, N.Y.), Raychel Fauntroy (Miami), Teyana Johnson (San Antonio), Rachel Jordan (Atlanta), Genesis Lewis (Valencia, Calif.), Tiffanee Moore (Tallahassee, Fla.), Miles Simon (Atlanta), Nikolas Sylvester (St. Vincent and The Grenadines), Luke-Kennedy Thompson (Nassau Bahamas), Breyahna Tyme (Ontario, Canada) and Joel Wilkinson (Kingston, Jamaica).
 
Collectively, 546 student-athletes made the list composing of three sports sponsored by the conference.
 
Askew enters his seventh season at the nation's only NCAA Division I Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Swimming & Diving program.
