OCALA, Fla. (March 14, 2026) – Howard University men's and women's swimming & diving teams concluded their historic seasons at the CSCAA (College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America) National Invitational Championships (NIC) in Ocala, Fla.
Both squads finished in the top 35.
On the men's side, freshman standout
Solomon Goins (Dallas) earned a pair of 17th-place finishes in the 400 IM (4:04.53) and 200 Fly (1:50.15).
Fellow classmate
Kaleb James (Durham, N.C.) took 18
th (22.68) and 20
th (50.82), respectively, in the 50 Back and 100 IM.
Third-year Bison
Mason Green (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) rounded out the men, securing 19
th place in the 100 Fly (48.62).
For the women, senior
Zuilda Nwaeze (Columbia, Md.), juniors
Rhanishka Gibbs (Nassau, Bahamas) and
Chanice Posada (Houston) and freshman
Alyssa Napier (Wilmington, Del.) represented Bison Nation in the 200 Medley Relay, earning fifth overall with a 1:40.42 mark.
Individually, Napier claimed 12
th place in the 50 Fly with a 24.88 time.
Posada rounded out the women with two 17th-place finishes in the 50 Back (25.46) and 50 Fly (25.11).
Queens (N.C.) won the 2026 CSCAA NIC men's title while Kentucky claimed the women's crown.
As swim season ends, both teams are looking to improve on their successful seasons and seeking to bring home more conference titles.
