WASHINGTON (February 6, 2020) – Howard University men's and women's track & field squads continue their indoor season at the South Carolina Invitational. The two-day event (Feb. 7-8) will be held inside Carolina Indoor in Columbia, S.C.

LAST TIMEOUT
Saturday (Feb. 1), the Bison competed at the Navy Invitational in Landover, Md., where both clubs had tremendous performances.
For the men, sophomores
Kameron Davis (Miami),
Aariq Nixon (Baltimore),
Jermanie Byrd (Miami) and freshmen
Richard Ninamou (Louisville) and
Nnamdi Olebara (Bowie, Md.) all placed in their respective events.
The women also dominated while earning four individual victories, including wins from junior
Ameenah Saalih (Willingboro, N.J.) in the 200-meter dash and senior
Sydney Benson (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich.) in the 1000-meter run.
Freshman
Dasia Wilson (Philadelphia) and junior
Rachel Edler (Stone Mountain, Ga.) headlined Saturday with a pair of record-setting performances in the 800-meter run and triple jump, respectively.
MEET PREVIEW
In Columbia, the team is competing in another challenge meet with top student-athletes across each event. Director Oliver and the Bison look for more qualifiers with the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Indoor Championships only three weeks away (Feb. 27-29).
South Carolina is set to host its third home meet of the 2020 indoor campaign, beginning Friday (Feb. 7) at 10 a.m. and continues Saturday (Feb. 8), starting at 10 a.m.
This will be the first time HU competes inside the Gamecock's indoor facility under Director Oliver. In April 2018, the Bison took part in the Gamecock Invitational, which was held outdoors.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On Feb. 14-15, HU travels to Lynchburg, Va., for the Darius Dixon Invitational, hosted by Liberty.
