NORFOLK, Va. (February 12, 2019) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its men's basketball weekly honors where Howard University sophomore
RJ Cole (Union, N.J.) and freshman
Raymond Bethea, Jr. (Atlantic City, N.J.) took home two of the three awards. The announcement came Tuesday evening, presented by the U.S. Marines.
Cole won MEAC Player of the Week after averaging 26.0 points, 6.5 assists and 5.5 rebounds in the road victories over Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman. The New Jersey product netted 20 points, seven dimes and four rebounds against the Rattlers. Two nights later, he scored a season-best 32 points at the Wildcats.
Bethea, Jr. claimed the league's rookie of the week award after registering 10.5 points per game on 54-percent (7-of-13) from the floor. In the Monday night win, he recorded 13 points off the bench against Bethune-Cookman.
Bethune-Cookman's junior forward Cletrell Pope earned MEAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Howard returns to D.C. for its final two home games of the season.
Saturday (Feb. 16), HU hosts North Carolina A&T State on Alumni Day. Game-time is set for 4 p.m.
