READING, Pa. (October 13, 2019) – Howard University women's bowling team grabbed four victories in the season opener at the Bud Whitman Memorial, hosted by Chestnut Hill College.
Junior
Carolyn Williams (Glen Burnie, Md.) led the Bison, averaging 181.2 in five traditional matches, including a game-high 220 in the win over Long Island-Brooklyn (LIU-Brooklyn).
Saturday (Oct. 12), HU won a pair of Baker Matches over Kutztown, 1,034-934, and Mount Aloysius, 923-805.
The following day (Oct. 13), Howard opened the morning with back-to-back victories over rival Coppin State, 813-812, and LIU-Brooklyn, 879-877.
Second-year bowler
Janae Bradford (Chicago) produced a 179.2 average, including a weekend-best 214 in a tough loss against Duquesne, 855-970.
On Oct. 19-20, HU (4-6) will be competing in the Mount Shootout in Frederick, Md., hosted by Mount St. Mary's.
