@HowardBison_WBB Freshman Krislyn Marsh Receives MEAC Rookie of the Week Basketball Honors

NORFOLK, Va., (January 22, 2019)— Howard University women's basketball freshman forward Krislyn Marsh was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) women's Rookie of the Week presented by the U.S. Marines, the conference announced today. Other school honors included North Carolina A&T State junior C'coriea Foy as Player of the Week. North Carolina Central junior Paulina Afriyie was named Defensive Player of the Week.

"After being out for two games, I was glad to see Krislyn bounce back," said head basketball coach Ty Grace. "We still need to work on the free throws, but even with the {South Carolina State} loss, I hope she can continue to thrive the rest of her rookie season. There is a lot more basketball to be played."

Marsh (6-0, F, Fr., Duncanville, Texas) dropped a team-high 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds on Saturday at South Carolina State, a game in which she went 6-for-14 from the floor. It marked her 10th double-digit scoring effort of the season and her fifth in the last seven games.

The Bison hold a 10-8 overall, 3-2 MEAC record. Marsh is expected to play in the team's upcoming Alumni Day game against Delaware State on January 26. Tip-off is at 2 p.m.
