NORFOLK, Va. (March 20, 2018) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its postseason honors where Howard University senior bowlers Kristyn Mitchell and Sydney Reece were named to the all-conference team. The announcement came Tuesday afternoon.
 
Both Bison earned a spot on the All-MEAC Third Team and all awards were voted on by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors.
 
In 29 games, Mitchell averaged a team-high 184.24 while producing 5,343 pinfalls. She recorded five 200-games in traditional competition and posted 180 or better in four different events during traditional play. The Delaware native rolled a season-high 211 at the Fairleigh Dickinson Jamboree (Nov. 4).
 
Reece displayed a 171.54 average while knocking down 4,803 pinfalls. The North Carolina product manufactured five 200-games in traditional play. In the four games at the Hawk Classic, she produced a 204.50, including a 245 against Maryland Eastern Shore.
 
Sunday (March 18), Howard saw Mitchell and Reece compete in their final tournament at the Columbia 300 Music City Classic. Over the past two years, both Bison have been part of 73 victories.
 
Delaware State's Alexis Neuer was named the MEAC Bowler of the Year while Kayla Stamm received the league's coach of the year accolades. North Carolina A&T State's Ana Olaya was selected the conference's rookie of the year.
