Ty Grace and the Howard University Women's Basketball team seek momentum as they host their final two home games inside Burr Gymnasium.
Saturday (Feb. 24), Howard hosts Delaware State (DSU) on Senior Day, Alumni Weekend, and Faculty & Staff Appreciation. Tip-off at 2 p.m.
Before Saturday's game, HU will recognize senior
Tajzhane Dopson for her hard work and dedication on and off the court.
Monday (Feb. 26), the Bison meet Norfolk State (NSU) on Organization Night. Game-time is slated for 4 p.m.

MATCHUP PREVIEWS
HOWARD
HU (10-16, 6-7 MEAC) enters the weekend on a three-game losing streak, having fallen to Maryland Eastern Shore, 83-79, North Carolina A&T State, 91-53, and N.C. Central,78-77. With only three conference games remaining, the Bison can seal a winning record in league play while moving up the conference standings. Currently, the Bison sit sixth with a half-game lead over Eastern Shore; however, the Hawks own the tiebreaker with victories over Howard. On the other hand, Coach Grace's bunch can move up as high as fifth with wins in their final three contests.
DELAWARE STATE
On Feb. 22, Delaware State (5-21, 4-9 MEAC) announced that head coach Barbara Burgess was relieved of their duties after being informed that her contract will not be renewed for next season. Assistant coach Kyle Adams serves as DSU interim head coach for the rest of the 2017-18 campaign. Najai Pollard, the Preseason MEAC Player of the Year, is among the league leaders in several categories, including scoring (1
st), rebounding (5
th), field goal percentage (5
th), and blocks (4
th).
NORFOLK STATE
NSU and Howard have met 45 times in a series that began on Jan. 14, 1975. HU owns the series, 32-13, but the Spartans are 4-2 in the past six games. Monday (Feb. 19), the Spartans (16-9, 9-4 MEAC) clinched its first winning season in 16 seasons with a 63-49 victory over South Carolina State. The victory also assures a winning mark in MEAC play for only the fourth time since joining the conference for the 1997-98 season. Through 25 games this season, Norfolk State has been one of the most-prolific shot-blocking teams in the nation. NSU averages 7.3 rejections per game, which is second in D-I.
LAST TIMEOUT
Over the weekend, HU came up short in the Tar Heel State.
Saturday (Feb. 17), Howard was unable to find its shot as they lost at North Carolina A&T State, 91-53, inside the Corbett Sports Center. Sophomore
Sarah Edmond led the Bison with 11 points while second-year center
Jayla Myles chipped in 10 points in the loss.
Two nights later (Feb. 19), the Bison took a tough loss at North Carolina Central, 78-77, inside McDougald-McLendon Arena. Four Bison reached double figures, led by sophomore
Ayonna Williams with 16 points. The D.C. native also racked up seven dimes, three boards, and three steals in the loss.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On March 1, Howard concludes the regular season in Baltimore where the Coppin State Eagles await. Thursday's showdown starts 5:30 p.m.
