CHARLOTTE, N.C. (November 13, 2018) – The Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) revealed its weekly honors where Howard University senior
KaSandra Kaplan (Detroit) and freshman
Miguel Davis, Jr. (Washington) were selected the conference's men's & women's swimmers of the week. The announcement came Tuesday afternoon.
Kaplan had another stellar performance against George Washington where she claimed first place in the 50 Free against the defending Atlantic 10 Conference Champions with a 24.76 time. Her lead off leg in the 400 Free relay was also the fastest of the meet and set the Bison up for another first place finish to close out the day.
After missing time due to injury, Davis, Jr. return to the pool where he guided the club to a fourth-place finish in the men's 200-yard medley relay by posting a split 26.90 against George Washington. Individually, he placed first in the 100 Breaststroke with a 59.08 mark.
Sophomore
Christian Nickolas (Brentwood, Calif.) earned honorable mention after scoring a 266.55 against George Washington. As a result, the California native qualified for the NCAA Diving Championships.
Liberty freshman Lauren Chennault was named the CCSA Women's Diver of the Week.
