WASHINGTON (January 5, 2018) – After a tough road loss, Coach
Ty Grace and the Howard University Women's Basketball team look to rebound with a pair of home games at The Burr.
On Jan. 6, the Bison host Bethune-Cookman (BCU) on Community Day. Game-time is set for 4 p.m. and moved to Trinity Washington University.
Three nights later (Jan. 9), Howard renews its rivalry with Hampton in the Battle of the Real HU. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and Monday's promotion is White Out.

HOWARD
HU (4-10, 0-1 MEAC) enters the weekend looking to bounce back from a tough road loss at Florida A&M, 74-59. Over the past two seasons, Howard has protected its house with a 13-4 mark, including 4-2 this season.
Tuesday (Jan. 2), the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its weekly honors where Howard University swept all three awards. Sophomore
Sarah Edmond won MEAC Co-Player of the Week while fellow classmate
Jayla Myles claimed top defensive honors. Freshman
Curstyn Moore took home the league's rookie of the week award.
BETHUNE-COOKMAN
Bethune-Cookman (9-4, 1-0 MEAC) began its run for another title with a 68-50 victory against South Carolina State Wednesday. The two-time regular season champion Lady Wildcats are 28-5 in league play over the past two seasons, including last year's 15-1 campaign. Last season, B-CU defeated Howard, 75-54, in Daytona Beach, Fla., where Myles finished with 11 points and six boards in 24 minutes of action. Junior guard Ashanti Hunt is a player to watch.
HAMPTON
Before coming to D.C., the Lady Pirates (3-9) meet Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Md. Hampton was idle Wednesday; however, picked up a nonconference victory versus Columbia, 60-58, where they snapped a six-game skid. Coach David Six's bunch was projected to win the MEAC Title prior to the season. They are led by Preseason All-MEAC selections seniors Monnazjea Finney-Smith and Jephany Brown and junior K'lynn Willis.

Wednesday (Jan. 3), Howard dropped its conference opener at Florida A&M, 74-59, inside the Al Lawson Center.
Despite shooting only 35-percent (18-of-51) from the field, HU shot 77-percent (20-of-26) at the charity stripe; however, the biggest difference was turnovers. Howard committed 29 turnovers and the Rattlers capitalized with 29 points off turnovers.
Senior
Tajzhane Dopson fell two boards shy of a double-double, finishing with team-highs in points (12) and rebounds (8).
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Howard hits the road for a couple of league contests against South Carolina State (Jan. 13) and Savannah State (Jan. 15).
Saturday's matchup at the Lady Bulldogs start 2 p.m. while Monday night's showdown takes place at 6 p.m.
