RESULTSFAIRFAX, VA --- The Bison men's and women's Track & Field team put together a strong performance this weekend and the George Mason Spring Invitational Fairfax, VA. Both teams placed multiple people in the top ten in several events.
The men made their presence felt as well. Senior Wallace Spencer had a spectacular day by winning the 400m hurdles (52.41), and finishing third in the 4x100 meter relay with sophomore Kahe Kaye, junior Robert Mercer and sophomore Basil Niccolls. Spencer was also a part of the relay team with Niccolls, Kaye, and Olujimi Scott that placed second (3:16.57) in the 4x400 meter relay. Freshman Milan Bullock placed tenth in the high jump (6' 21/4) while junior Rajae Gayle finished seventh (185' 8) in the javelin throw. The men had three top five finishes with Robert Mercer tying for third in the pole vault (14' 11"), freshman Clifford Hackworth placed second (23' 21/2), and Myles Williams finishing fourth (46' 21/2) in the triple jump.The Lady Bison performed well in both track and field events. Michelle Cole finished tenth in the 400 meters and teamed up with
Aigner Bobbitt,
Skylar Buchanan, and
Monica Todd to take ninth place in the 4x400 meter relay (4:05:00).
Monica Todd also placed seventhth in the 400m hurdles (1:02.63). Sophomore
Hanah Billups finished fifth in the long jump (18' 4
1/4), freshman
Cheyenne Bellerand placed second in the shot put (45' 1
3/4) and junior
Georgia Williams finished tenth in the discus throw (126' 4").
NEXT UP: The track teams travel to Philadelphia to take part in the Penn Relays from April 23-25.
