WASHINGTON, DC --- The Howard University women's basketball team will look to snap its season-opening seven-game losing streak on Saturday, December 6 when the Lady Bison host the North Carolina A&T Aggies at 4 p.m. at Burr Gymnasium. The game will be the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) opener for both teams.
Despite Howard's record (0-7), there have been positives to pull from their highly competitive non-conference schedule. Redshirt sophomore guard
Te'Shya Heslip continues to lead the way for HU (15.9 PPG, 4.3 PPG) but senior forward
Cheyenne Brown (11.1 PPG) continues to provide an increased level of contribution for the team.
Part of the team's struggles have come because of injuries but slowly players are returning to action. Sophomore forward
Sydni Johnson recorded her first double-double of the season last time out at ODU (10 pts, 10 rebs) in her first start and third game of the season. Sophomore guard
Jasmine Hill made her season debut in the ODU game and scored three points - on a customary three-pointer - in limited action.
HU will face a strong test that counts in the Aggies, who come into the game with a 5-2 record and sit near the top of the conference after being picked to win the MEAC in the preseson.
