Men's Soccer Still In Search of First Win After Loss To LIU Brooklyn

Box Score BROOKLYN, NY --- Howard's inability to produce goals stifled their efforts to claim their first win as the Bison Booters fell to the Blackbirds of LIU Brooklyn, 2-1, on Saturday in New York. Howard's record now falls to 0-10, while LIU improved to 3-6-1.

Junior Rahman Alarape led the Bison with four shots (two on goal) and one score, but the team was still outshot 17-5. Junior goalkeeper Eric Hamilton played all 90 minutes and recorded three saves.

Alapare's goal came in the 59th minute after taking a pass from junior Frederick Todd III and getting past LIU goalkeeper John Connolly, who attempted to come out from the goal to stop the developing play.

Howard was unable to break up LIU's hold on possession to add a second score to match the Blackbirds' first two goals - one in the 6th minute and one in the 47th minute. The team will take a week to prepare for its next road goal, a tilt against Florida Atlantic University on Sunday, October 13 at 12:00 PM.
