MATCHUP PREVIEW

HOWARD (2-6-2, 1-2 NEC)

Howard aims to regroup, following a 3-0 loss at Mercyhurst.

The Bison held strong early, anchored by goalkeeper Ireal Wyze-Daly (Ontario, Canada), who made seven saves on the day. Howard's defense stayed compact and limited Mercyhurst's chances for much of the match, but a first-half penalty kick broke the deadlock and gave the Lakers the edge.

Despite the final score line, Howard generated offensive looks, including five shots on target. Senior Christian Rufael (Washington) led the attack, but the Bison were unable to convert.

CENTRAL CONNECTICUT STATE (1-10-2, 0-4 NEC)

The Blue Devils are still chasing their first conference win after falling, 2-1, at New Haven. CCSU grabbed the lead early in the second half but surrendered the equalizer shortly after and conceded the game-winner in the 78th minute.

Michael Catanzaro led all players with six shots, including three on target. CCSU also earned a 6-4 edge in corner kicks and showed flashes of control throughout the match.

LAST TIMEOUT

Howard fell, 3-0, to Mercyhurst on the road Sunday (Oct. 5). The Bison held off early pressure, but two penalty kicks and a second-half goal sealed the defeat. Wyze-Daly stood out in goal and the Bison created chances but could not find the net.

Meanwhile, Central Connecticut State dropped a 2-1 decision to New Haven. After taking the lead in the 55th minute, the Blue Devils gave up two goals in quick succession. Despite Catanzaro's strong performance up front, CCSU came up short in another tight conference match.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE
