GREENWOOD, Ind. (May 26, 2026) – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Committee uncovered its 2025-26 Softball Division I All-District Team where Howard University saw three Bison acknowledged for their academic excellence off the field. The announcement came Tuesday afternoon
MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Player of the Year
Maryn Jordan (San Diego), alongside All-MEAC selections
Julia Holt (Tucson, Ariz.) and
Cheyenne Castille (Eastvale, Calif.) were tabbed for their academic committee inside the classroom.
Jordan ranked among the nation's top sluggers, finishing top 10 in batting average (.475) and on-base percentage (.573). Recently, the human performance major was selected to the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) All-Region Second Team after leading HU to back-to-back league titles.
Holt, a two-time CSC Academic All-District Team recipient, registered a 4-3 record while striking out 62 batters. Arguably the best relief pitcher in school history, the history major was named to the MEAC All-Tournament and All-MEAC First Team.
Castille proved to be an important contributor for the Bison, batting .331 while landing on the All-MEAC First Team. The 2024 NFCA All-Region Team selection enters her final season, studying psychology.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
Howard (28-19, 18-3 MEAC) captured its second consecutive MEAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships and made the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.
