NORFOLK, Va. (March 9, 2026) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its men's basketball weekly honors where Howard University junior guard
Cam Gillus (Falls Church, Va.) claimed the league's Player of the Week award. The announcement came Monday evening.
Gillus led the Bison to a pair of conference victories over Coppin State (March 2) and Norfolk State (NSU). In Monday's win against the Eagles, he recorded a triple-double (12 points, 11 boards & 11 assists), which was the second in program history. Three nights later (March 5) at NSU, the Virginia native notched 22 points en route to helping HU secure the regular season crown and No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.
Gillus is one of two MEAC student-athletes to register a triple-double this season (Corey Perkins – Delaware State).
Graduate guard
Bryce Harris (Brentwood, N.Y.) received honorable mention after averaging 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 1.0 steals against Coppin State and NSU.
Coppin State forward DeMariontay Halll earned MEAC Defensive Player of the Week while South Carolina State guard Noah Treadwell won Rookie of the Week.
Howard will play Friday (March 13) in the MEAC Semifinals, waiting the winner between No. 4 Norfolk State and No. 5 South Carolina State. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m.
