LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 5, 2026) – Howard University men's and women's track & field program goes to Louisville, Ky., to compete in the HBCU Indoor Championship, hosted by Kentucky State University at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.

Following the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Indoor Championships, senior
Abraham Evans (Virginia Beach, Va.-) sits fifth in the MEAC for the 60-meter dash (6:77).
In the 400-meter dash, junior
Emerson McKindra (Linden, N.J.) sits in fourth place in the conference with a time of 47.83. Freshman
Ashton Thomas (Greensboro, N.C.) holds third place within the conference for the 800-meter run (1:51.07).
Sophomore
Drew Dillard (Silver Spring, Md.) and senior
Jorim Bangue (Yaoundé, Cameroon) are currently ranked second (7.87) and third (7.93), respectively, in the MEAC for the 60-meter hurdles.
Bison 4x400 hurdle team, consisting of McKindra, sophomores
Elijah Grant (Fort Mill, S.C.) and
Jayvian Greene (Gainesville, Fla.), senior
Dylan Gaines (Houston), is ranked second within the conference.
In the field, Dillard currently tops the conference with a mark of 2.10 meters in the high jump.
At the conference level, fifth-year senior
Sean Wray (Stafford, Va.) is first (15.31m) and second place (7.22m) in the triple jump and long jump, respectively.
Sophomore
Solomon Young (Charlotte, N.C.) sits fourth in the conference with a mark of 15.95m in shot put.
WOMEN
In the conference, sophomore
Yahnari Lyons (Hampton, Ga.) sits at second place (7.40) in the 60-meter and first place (23.43) in the 200-meter dash.
In the MEAC, graduate student
Marcia Sey (London, United Kingdom) holds third place (7.44) in the 60-meter and first place (8.20) in the 60-meter hurdles.
Sophomore
Lindsay Johnson (Detroit) and senior
Lauren Thompson (Frisco, Texas) tied for third place in the short hurdles with duplicate times (8.38). In fifth place is freshman
Gabby White (Silver Spring, Md.) at 8.39.
Junior
Aiyana Gray-Williams (Winston-Salem, N.C.) ranks fourth (7.46) and third (24.02), in the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash, respectively.
Freshman
Nilijah Darden (Greensboro, N.C.) sits at fifth place in the conference for the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.47.
In the 200-meter dash, senior
Zoe Turner (Mableton, Ga.) and junior
Mackenzie Robinson (Ypsilanti, Mich.) are currently ranked fourth (24.04) and fifth place (24.05), respectively, in the MEAC. Turner is also ranked first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.64.
Also ranked in the 400-meter dash are Johnson and sophomores
Cenaiya Billups (Denver) and
Tiffany Mugubi (Houston) at second (54.65), third (54.84) and fifth (56.02), respectively. Mugubi currently sits fourth in the conference for the 800-meter run (2:07).
Freshman
Alexis Jones (New Windsor, N.J.) ranks first in the conference in both the mile (4:49) and the 3000-meter run (10:01). Jones also ranks third in the 800-meter run (2:11) and fourth in the 5000-meter run (18:42).
In second (5:10) and fourth place (5:17) in the mile are sophomores
Ester Kirk (Morristown, N.J.) and
Chloe Poindexter (State College, Pa.), respectively.
In the MEAC 3000-meter run, sophomore
Mira Martin (Columbus, Ohio) is ranked in fifth place with a time of 10:21.
Lady Bison 4x400 relay team and distance medley relay team are both ranked first in the conference. The 4x400 team consists of Turner, Johnson, Mugubi, and Jones. The distance medley relay team consists of Jones, Mubugi, Robinson and senior
Sanaa Morris (Bermuda).
In the field, senior
Ija Mumford (Winston-Salem, N.C.) is ranked third in the long jump with a mark of 5.82m.
Senior
Kelis Armstrong (Plano, Texas) holds second place in the triple jump with a mark of 12.74m.
In the shot put, senior
Temi Banwo (Allen, Texas), sophomore
Kinnidi Hampton (Rowlette, Texas) and freshman
Mmekom Inyang (Richmond Hill, Ga.) sit at first (14.39m), second (13.55m) and third (13.53) respectively.
Banwo and Hampton also hold first (18.49m) and fourth place (15.31m), respectively, in the conference weight throw.
First place in the pentathlon is Inyang with 3658 points with sophomore
Jasmen Walker (Flossmoor, Ill.) in fourth place with 3256 points.
LAST TIMEOUT
Both squads competed in the MEAC Indoor Championships (Feb. 22-23). The men's team placed fifth in the conference while the Lady Bison took home their fifth consecutive championship.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On March 13-14, several Bison head to Fayetteville, Ark., to compete in the NCAA Indoor Championships.
