BOSTON (March 16, 2026) – CollegeInsider.com unveiled its Men's Mid-Major Top 25 where Howard University made the list for the first time in program history. The announcement came Monday evening.
Saturday (March 14), HU won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament title for the third time in four years, defeating North Carolina Central, 70-63, in Norfolk, Va.
It is the sixth-ever conference tournament win in Howard's history and the program's fifth-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.
Entering the Big Dance, Howard is riding an eight-game win streak.
Gonzaga sits atop the poll with 30 first-place votes, followed by Miami (Ohio) and Santa Clara. Saint Mary's recorded a first-place vote, landing at No. 4.
The final Men's Mid-Major Top 25® of the season will be announced Monday (April 6).

HU takes on UMBC for first time in the Big Dance, fourth meeting all-time, Tuesday (March 17) in Dayton, Ohio as part of the NCAA First Four. Tipoff is slated for 6:40 p.m. (ET).
