Bison take on Wolverines in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. (March 18, 2026) – Howard University men's basketball team takes on Michigan in the NCAA Round of 64 Thursday night (March 19) at the Key Bank Center (19,200). Tipoff is slated for 7:10 p.m. (ET), live on CBS.
 
The streaking Bison enter the game with a nine-game win streak.

Tuesday (March 17), senior guard Ose Okojie (Brampton, Canada) scored a career-high 23 points to lead four Bison in double figures as HU defeated UMBC, 86-83, in the NCAA First Four at the University of Dayton Arena.
 
MICHIGAN
 
The third-ranked and top-seeded Wolverines fell to No. 18-ranked and seventh-seeded Purdue, 80-72, in the Big Ten Tournament championship game Sunday afternoon (March 15) at the United Center. Yaxel Lendeborg led Michigan with 20 points, including four three-pointers, and five rebounds.
 
SERIES RECORD
 
This is the second meeting between the two institutions with Michigan defeating the Bison, 78-56, in Ann Arbor, Mich. (November 11, 2016).
 
THE COACHES
 
Howard is coached by Kenneth Blakeney (Duke, '95), who is in his seventh season and has led the Bison to three MEAC Tournament titles and NCAA appearances in four years and first-ever first round NCAA victory.
 
Michigan is coached by Dusty May (Indiana, '00), who is in his second season at the helm.
