Swimming & Diving Receives CSCAA Spring Scholar All-America Recognition

NEC Champions recognized for their accomplishments inside the classroom

RICHMOND, Va. (July 1, 2026) – The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) revealed its Spring Scholar All-America Team where Howard University was recognized for academic excellence during the 2026 spring semester. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon.

To qualify for this notable recognition, teams had to earn a minimum 3.0 grade point average (GPA) during the 2026 spring semester.

"I'm so proud of our program," said Howard Director of Swimming & Diving Nicholas Askew. "Our young men and women continue to display academic excellence inside the classroom while performing at a high level in the pool. They exemplify what it means to be a Howard University student-athlete."

In the spring semester, the men and women posted 3.33 and 3.28 GPAs, respectively.

Collectively, the CSCAA recognized 16,680 student-athletes based on their outstanding academic performances during the spring semester. The selection was made of 714 teams from 418 institutions throughout the country.

"This recognition celebrates the remarkable commitment these student-athletes make to excellence both in the classroom and in competition," said CSCAA Executive Director Samantha Barany. "The 714 teams honored this spring represent the very best of collegiate swimming and diving, demonstrating that academic success and athletic achievement go hand in hand. We congratulate every student-athlete, coach, and institution recognized."

HU looks to repeat as Men's and Women's NEC Champions in winter 2026-27.
