Four Bison Earn MEAC Men’s Basketball Postseason Honors

Harris, Taylor headline with three major awards

NORFOLK, Va. (March 10, 2026) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its men's basketball postseason awards where Howard University saw four Bison receive acknowledgement for their outstanding 2025-26 campaign. The announcement came during the league's annual awards ceremony in Norfolk, Va.

Guards Bryce Harris (Brentwood, N.Y.) and Cedric Taylor III (Atlanta) headlined the evening, earning major awards while both being named to the All-MEAC First Team.

Harris became the second straight Bison (eight overall) to win MEAC Player of the Year after leading the conference in scoring (17.4 ppg) and rebounding (6.7 rpg). Nationally, he ranks among the nation leaders in free throw attempts (52nd) and free throws made (49th).

Taylor took home a pair of major awards: MEAC Defensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. After missing the first 11 contests due to injury, the Atlanta native became a force on both ends of the court.

Senior guard Ose Okojie (Brampton, Canada) made the MEAC All-Defensive Team, joining Harris and Taylor.

Other noteworthy Bison receiving postseason recognition included freshman center Danas Kazakevičius (Vilnius, Lithuania) making the MEAC All-Rookie Team.

Noah Treadwell (South Carolina State) won MEAC Rookie of the Year while Elijah Jamison (Norfolk State) claimed Sixth Man of the Year. Kevin Broadus (Morgan State) took home the league's Coach of the Year.

All awards were voted on by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors.

Howard will play Friday (March 13) in the MEAC Semifinals, waiting the winner between No. 4 Norfolk State and No. 5 South Carolina State. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m.
