WASHINGTON (February 9, 2026) – Howard University women's lacrosse team looks to bounce back as they travel to Richmond, Va., for a showdown against VCU. The game is set for Tuesday (Feb. 10) at noon inside VCU Stadium.

Leah Croom (Falmouth, Mass.) scored twice and sophomore
Kyla Newkirk (Durham, N.C.) scored one goal & one assist.
On the defensive end, senior
Kendall Barker (Columbus, Ohio) collected four ground balls and freshman
London James-Golas (Annapolis, Md.) added four saves.
VCU
VCU's originally scheduled season opener was postponed due to impending inclement weather. As a result, this matchup will now serve as the Rams home opener, marking their first game of the season at home.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Howard returns to action for a weekend matchup Saturday (Feb. 14) at La Salle. The game is set for 1 p.m., in Philadelphia.
